Meet Our Donors
Mary Ann Bogie
In the late 90's, I returned "back home" to Delaware County after living in 4 other states. Health Care had been an important part of my life since I was diagnosed with a chronic disease in 1972, but I was slow to establish new providers. An emergency came along in 2001, and Riddle came to my rescue. After 13 weeks in the hospital and Riddle's Skilled Nursing Facility, Riddle gave me a new lease on life and a network of health care professionals to insure I stayed healthy.
How do you thank someone who has given you back your well-being? The best answer I could find was to make sure help would be there when others needed the same assistance. I made a donation to The Rehabilitation Center to upgrade some equipment, but somehow this didn't seem like enough. My physician and the Development Vice President helped me decide that a Deferred Gift Annuity would be good for Riddle and for me. As I was in my mid-50's, the Deferred Gift Annuity not only gave me an immediate charitable deduction on my federal income tax, but also allowed me to begin the annuity payments when I turn 65 – an income that I will be able to enjoy for the rest of my life.
Riddle means a lot to me and my family – knowing they will be there should I ever need them in the future. I couldn't have made a better decision.
